Types of Massages

Swedish Massage

The most common type of massage, promotes relaxation, eases muscle tension & creates many other health benefits. Always state your preference on pressure.

Deep Tissue

Designed to relieve severe tension in muscle & connective tissue or fascia. This massage focuses on muscles located below the surface of the top muscles & is recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity or have sustained physical injury. It's not uncommon for recipients of deep tissue massage to have pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two. Deep tissue work varies greatly.

Cupping

Through either heat or suction the skin is gently drawn upwards by creating a vacuum in a cup over the target area of the skin, used to treat pain, deep scar tissues in the muscles or connective tissues, muscle knots & swelling.

CST & Reiki

In Craniosacral Therapy or CST the practitioner gently works with the spine & the skull & its cranial sutures, diaphragms & fascia. In this way, the restrictions of nerve passages are eased, the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spinal cord is optimized & misaligned bones are restored to their proper position. CST is used to treat mental stress, neck & back pain, migraines, TMJ, good for after falls or car accidents, allergies or vision problems & for chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia. CST pairs extremely well with Reiki.

Reiki is an ancient Japanese method of healing that uses energy to balance the body & mind & is believed to improve just about any aspect of life, from physical health to emotional well-being to stress reduction & mental clarity. Benefits include dissolving energy blocks, promoting natural balance between mind, body & spirit, increasing energy levels, creates deep relaxation, helps the body release stress & tension, clears the mind & improves focus, accelerates the body's self healing ability, aids in better sleep, reduces blood pressure, relieves pain, assists the body in cleansing itself of toxins, supports the immune system, helps spiritual growth & emotional cleansing & complements medical treatment.

Thai Massage

This  style involves stretching, muscle compression, joint mobilization & accupressure; it is often referred to as "lazy man's yoga". This form of bodywork is performed on a special Thai mat, no oils are used & the client remains fully dressed in comfortable clothing that allows for movement. One feels energized & invigorated after receiving this service & some find it to be a meditative experience. It is extremely effective in relaxing stiff joints, releasing muscular tension & congested toxins.

Complementary services

Hot Stone uses smooth heated basalt stones that are both deeply relaxing & help tight muscles release. Very popular during the cold season!

Reflexology applies pressure to the feet, hands or ears with specific thumb, finger & hand techniques. It is based on a system of zones & reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet & hands with the premise that such work effects a physical change to the body.

Prenatal Massage helps relieve common pregnancy discomforts & promotes mother & baby's well being, it is very gentle, effective & has many benefits for mom such as increasing energy, easing aches & pains, slowing the process of varicose veins, reducing fluid retention & relieving stress. Labor can also be gently induced with specific techniques that are only used after your doctor gives the ok that baby is ready to come any day & can be a much less painful alternative to Pitocin.
